Adam Hurlburt

Adam has been writing in one form or another since his teenage years. A chance encounter with an inspiring professor at Davenport, Iowa’s St. Ambrose University pushed him toward journalism, where he’s remained since obtaining bachelors of arts degrees in journalism and marketing from St. Ambrose nearly 10 years ago.

After a brief stint as a copy editor at his hometown newspaper, Adam moved to Eugene, Oregon to study magazine journalism, then to Spearfish, South Dakota to cut his teeth in the world of daily newspaper reporting at the Black Hills Pioneer, where he specialized in features, science writing, and investigative reporting.

After six years at the Black Hills Pioneer, a desire to pursue freelance writing and a yearning to return to the Pacific Northwest motivated a move to the greater Seattle area. With The Numad Group, he provides writing support for our media relations, publication and website work.

Adam currently resides in Anacortes, Washington. His work has appeared in local and national newspapers, in magazines, and on television in the U.S. and Europe. He believes passionate, responsible journalism and advocacy writing have the power to change the world.
