Client Story: Christel House International

Our partnership with Christel House International harkens back to many years ago, when Numad Matt was in graduate school earning a master's degree in public administration, with a focus on nonprofit management and philanthropy, from Indiana University in Bloomington. During his time in school, he was an intern for Indiana University Foundation, and specifically, for Bobbi Bosch, who at the time was the executive director for corporate and foundation relations.

Jump ahead about 10 years, and Bobbi is now working for Christel House International—an international nonprofit that transforms the lives of impoverished children around the world, breaking the cycle of poverty and building self-sufficient, contributing members of society. And, when she was searching for a true partner to collaborate on a number of philanthropic programs, she turned to Numad to work alongside her team to support their efforts.

Over the past couple of years, our work with Christel House has included:

  • Strategy, writing, design and implementation of a series of annual fund appeals that introduce the important work Christel House has been doing for years in countries like India, Mexico, South Africa and the United States;

  • Strategy and proposal development to support their robust foundations and corporate relations efforts; and,

  • Strategy and consultation on a new print newsletter that turned what once was solely a communications piece into a donor cultivation tool that solicits—and gets—gifts for the organization's mission.

When we step back for a moment and look at the amazing work Bobbi, Christel DeHaan and others are doing to educate kids across the world, we are reminded how fortunate we are to play a small effort in that work. Our lives have been enriched as a result of the educators we have been taught by throughout our lives, and it is wonderful to get to work with a nonprofit like Christel House who makes education accessible to others.
